BIO — KATE POCOCK
One of Canada's top family travel writers, Kate started her career as a magazine editor (after Journalism at Toronto’s Ryerson University and post-graduate studies at the Sorbonne). During the 1990's, she helped to launch five national publications including Chatelaine Travels! and Travel & More, Your Air Miles Magazine.
Kate's family stories, many based on travel adventures with her own three kids, are seen in magazines from AARP The Magazine to Reader's Digest and Today's Parent. For more than ten years, she also wrote hundreds of "Family Fare" travel columns for the Toronto Sun and sister publications. Between editing gigs (most recently, Managing Editor of Life, etc. magazine for the Royal Bank of Canada), she continues to work as a full-time freelancer.
Although she specializes in family travel across Canada (she wrote 14 chapters for National Geographic Guide to Family Adventure Vacations and Fodor's Around Toronto with Kids), her stories and photographs focus on family exploits across North America, the Caribbean, Europe and the high seas.
